Hi, folks, your restaurant is my absolute favourite, it's such a great place: amazing food; very pleasant, calming decor; and very nice, personable staff. Even among other local Thai restaurants, your place stands out. All my friends who've dined with me at your place love it too, you guys do an awesome job. Here's the poem I said I would write about your restaurant, I hope you like it:
THAI SEA SANCTUM
by Mercury Rhone
My soul’s only halfway in my person anymore and that’s totally okay. Cause it’s out floating on a Thai sea in Marpole Vancouver and isn’t lonely for memorable decor. Not no more. If I could I’d stay here forever n sleep on the floor. Let me eat their Thai dishes three times per day and be healthy like never before.
Eighteen dollars or under for dinner is no hindrance and I’m ecstatic for the peace of mind as I gaze over my meals of chicken w rice n scattered vegetables. Then the haze of my busy schedule disappears into a mango juice river.
I like the booths at the back where I’m hidden from the world. To look at me you could say that man blends into the background it’s so dim around him that his black coat absorbs his lucky back and shadows shroud his head that isn’t sad in the slightest. Not no more it isn’t.
Cause one just can’t be sombre with thoughts left out on the green Gulf of Thailand or the blue Andaman Sea any marine force around where that cuisine sits is of course good for me. Whichever waterway it is that carries me to dinner in the centre of my personal temple is nothing but wonderful. Some people go to church for an audience with the cosmos but not me: I just order the Green Curry. Number twenty on the menu folks it’s sincerely unforgettable.
Thai Sea sanctum where regularly I utter my whisper to infinity. One of about forty small businesses that are like rooms of reflection for me places I frequent locally where dinner is a prayer. But by far the best and with exquisite food to boot. Just my favourite chapel for quiet conversation and thought.
And if I were to perish on Granville my eyes to drop eternal I’d want to be invited here for a meal with God. Why not I’d cover His bill even cause he’s a kind guy. But for now I’ll enjoy the company of my collection of earthly friends. No doubt sent to me by the Almighty anyway at the time that it was right to be met. I believe in cosmological stuff like that it’s more than legit if one pays attention.
And so table reservations my crew and I make day and night eleven am early to eight pm late and we love it. See the cascade of lights in the window their neon open sign in red and don’t let yourself forget that everyone needs a place to escape the concrete.
Those expert chefs douse their meals in coveted coconut sauce I could swim in. It’s sweet oil for my artistic ambitions. Then in the previously empty box of my belly it gets processed into gasoline to encourage fire upon my losses. Let what is not needed in life burn and be gone but what meals are still sweet yearn for my patronage again and again.
I have several friends to attend me at mealtimes I’m very fortunate. In fact I’m so amicable and so senior I’ve become a social sorcerer by this point dispensing spells I hope will help others. It was a fortune teller of all people who told me I’d become this way. And His word directed me towards this specific special restaurant. And thank God. Cause Talay Thai don’t ever disappoint no its manners are perfect.
The lighting that invites patrons in above the icons that smile from over the counter. The walls that wear their best bright yellow paint work to supper. The wooden pews with the pillows on the seats where I could sleep sitting up if I were to become any more serene. If I were to close my eyes as the fork met my mouth I’d just never ever leave. Talay Thai property of Blue Andaman Ltd. a tiny restful oasis in the south of the city. Get the mango juice ready and pour till it forms a sea.
For my friends at Talay Thai, South Granville Street. Thanks for operating such an exceptional restaurant.

The green curry was excellent. However, the jungle curry was too watery and didn't have much curry taste.
